One conversation, all of your pool information

Managing football pools can involve a surprising amount of information. Players may participate in several pools across different leagues, game types, and seasons, each with its own picks, deadlines, standings, and rules. Coach AI brings all of that information together in one conversational assistant.

Instead of navigating through several pages or manually comparing results, users can ask Coach a question in plain language and receive a concise, personalized answer based on their actual PickTheGame data.

One assistant for every pool

Coach understands that a user may belong to multiple pools with similar names across the NFL, college football, different seasons, and different game types. It identifies pools by their unique identity and uses the pool name, league, season, and format to avoid mixing unrelated information.

Users can ask questions such as:

  • “How am I doing?”
  • “Which pools still need my picks?”
  • “When are picks due in each of my pools?”
  • “Compare my rank across every pool.”
  • “Which of my pools use Confidence points?”
  • “How did I perform last season?”

Coach can provide an overview across every relevant pool or focus on one pool when the user specifies it.

Performance and statistical analysis

Coach goes beyond showing raw standings. It can analyze recorded results and explain a player’s performance in approachable terms.

Its statistical capabilities include:

  • Overall pick accuracy
  • Correct and incorrect pick totals
  • Average correct picks per week
  • Best and worst weeks
  • Recent performance trends
  • Week-to-week consistency
  • Current and longest winning streaks
  • Longest incorrect-pick streaks
  • Accuracy grouped by team
  • Comparisons between players
  • Comparisons between seasons
  • The current standings gap to a target rank

“Am I improving this season?” Coach can compare earlier and more recent completed weeks and explain the direction of the trend.

“Who has been more consistent, me or Morgan?” Coach evaluates both players over the same period and compares their week-to-week variation rather than simply looking at total wins.

Coach is careful not to turn current standings into guarantees. It can explain the gap to first place, but it will not pretend to know exactly how many future picks will secure a championship.

Player and historical comparisons

Coach can answer detailed questions about past performance without requiring users to search through old weeks manually.

  • “When did I pick Buffalo?”
  • “Show my wrong picks from this season.”
  • “How many picks did I get right last year?”
  • “Which weeks did I win?”
  • “Compare my 2025 and 2026 accuracy.”
  • “Which team have I performed best when picking?”
  • “How did I do compared with Morgan this week?”

Comparisons are limited to pools, seasons, and completed weeks where the players have genuinely comparable data.

Help making and submitting picks

Coach is also an action-oriented assistant. It can show current choices, identify missing information, and submit or update picks when the user gives a clear instruction.

Players can say:

  • “Pick all the favorites.”
  • “Choose the underdogs in my EmPower pool.”
  • “Make my picks Buffalo and Kansas City.”
  • “Which Survivor teams can I still use?”
  • “Copy these picks to my other pool.”
  • “Give me a plan for completing all my missing picks.”

Coach checks the live pool configuration before acting. It respects locked games, preserves selections the user did not ask to change, and only offers teams that are currently eligible.

When additional information is required, such as a tiebreaker, Confidence ranking, or Survivor team, Coach can display a compact form directly in the conversation. Once the required values are provided, it can finish the submission.

Built for every supported format

Survivor

Coach can report whether an entry is active or eliminated, show historical selections, identify remaining eligible teams, and help complete open entries.

Confidence

Coach understands that selections require unique point values and can collect the player’s preferred ranking.

Pick’em and EmPower

For EmPower pools, Coach uses the recorded favorite and underdog designations rather than guessing based on team reputation.

Squares

Coach can summarize the board, report how many squares remain available, and identify the owners of winning squares.

Tools for pool administrators

Pool administrators can use Coach to quickly understand where attention is needed.

  • “Who still needs to submit?”
  • “Which pools I manage have missing picks?”
  • “What percentage of members are complete?”
  • “Who has an incomplete Confidence card?”
  • “Preview this week’s recap.”
  • “What recent changes were made to this pool?”
  • “Who are the admins and members?”
  • “What settings can I change?”

Coach can preview the recipients of missing-pick reminders before anything is sent. It can also help update supported pool settings, but administrative changes require an explicit confirmation of the exact change.

This provides convenience without allowing a casual or ambiguous message to alter an important pool configuration.

Responses designed for quick scanning

Coach is built to keep answers easy to understand at a glance. Simple questions receive short, direct responses. Larger data sets can be presented using:

  • Compact tables
  • Metric cards
  • Line, bar, and doughnut charts
  • Interactive input forms
  • Collapsible detail sections
  • Buttons linking directly to relevant app pages

A season summary might appear as a few metric cards showing rank, accuracy, correct picks, and recent trend. A player comparison could become a bar chart, while weekly performance may appear as a line chart. Longer week-by-week details can remain collapsed until the user wants to inspect them.

These interfaces are generated from real application data. Coach does not invent chart points or provide options that are not available to the user.

Privacy and responsible assistance

Coach operates within the permissions of the signed-in user. It only accesses pools available to that player and respects important privacy rules.

For example, it will not reveal another player’s selection for a game that has not locked. It will not reopen started games, invent unavailable spreads, fabricate results, or claim that an uncertain future outcome is guaranteed.

When the available data is insufficient, Coach explains what is missing instead of guessing.

More than a chatbot

Coach AI is not simply a question-and-answer box. It combines conversation, live pool data, statistical analysis, visual presentation, and carefully controlled actions.

It can help a casual player answer “Are all my picks in?” in seconds. It can help a competitive player study trends across several seasons. It can help an administrator identify incomplete submissions and manage a pool more efficiently.

The goal is straightforward: let users spend less time searching through screens and more time enjoying their pools.
